Tubarama is delighted to announce that Dr Nicholas Childs, Music Director of the world-famous Black Dyke Band, has kindly agreed to conduct our tuba world record challenge. ​

Black Dyke are the current European and English National Champions, so it is a huge honour to have such a prestigious name supporting Tubarama. 

​

 The event is a fantastic opportunity for brass players of all ages and abilities, from school bands to military brass, orchestral brass and bandsmen and women from all over the country to come together and be conducted by him in this exciting collective enterprise.

Dr Childs said: It’s with excitement that my baton will lead Tubarama for the Guinness Book of Records, and on the day if you can't see us, like Harry Potter's wand, my baton will create a tumultuous sound of tubas!’

There will be an earlier opportunity to witness Dr Childs conjuring musical magic when he leads both the Black Dyke Band and Yorkshire Youth Brass Band at York Minster on Saturday 1 June at 7.30pm.​
